Will the Season Finale of the Crossing Be Shown Again
Episodes x and 11 of The Crossing aired back to back June ixth, on ABC.
Wow, all I tin can say is, this was an INCREDIBLE two hours of TV. The Crossing was one of those shows that had a slow build, but I wish then much that ABC would have given it more than of a chance because this was excellent storytelling.
I'm not sure I can do this finale justice, and I'm not gonna attempt to squeeze in every detail, but here'south how things played out in the end.
The Plan
Equally nosotros know, Lindauer and Eve's program was to kill all the refugees and make information technology look similar a cult suicide. Eve had tricked Paul into making a video telling the earth that they were all part of this cult, which they would then use after the refugees were dead. The plan was to requite the refugees an "inoculation" which, of course, was going to kill them. But equally we know, the all-time laid plans tend to come unraveled, specially when you lot accept a heroic Sheriff who only can't aid himself.
Jude and Nestor had a program of their own to save the refugees. Along with assist from our APEX, Reece (rescued by Sophie and Jude), Marshall and Roy, Jude and Nestor get all the refugees out of the camp. And it turns out that the device Diana built to make the refugees "disappear" was an E.M.T. which would wipe out all the hard drive information on the refugees and the camp.
Jude'due south plan pretty much goes off without a hitch, except that Roy is captured. There'southward a terminal showdown between Jude, Lindauer, and Delilah (who has a gun on Roy), and Lindauer finally gives into his conscience and shoots Delilah. I don't think Lindauer was actually bad guy that he was fabricated out to be. He had an admirable goal, to terminate Noon and relieve humanity, just he was just going about it all wrong. All throughout this series nosotros saw hints that he wasn't comfy with the decisions he was making, not like the evil redhead, Eve, who by the way, killed Paul before long after revealing to him that she was pregnant when she crossed and that they have a son together.
In the end, the refugees are saved, and Jude answers to the powers that be about the refugees and what happened. But all he really tells them is that he doesn't know what happened, or where they went, and he doesn't know where Lindauer went either.
Jude delivers new identities to the refugees, and says goodbye to Reece and Leah. Reece tells him most the writing that was on the wall (loving this play on words, by the way) in Naomi's cabin—Leah read it and noticed that the name "Ellis" was written over and over. Ellis is, of course, Jude'south last name. An ominous sign of the part that Jude would play in our history.
The Paradox
I love how this story was told. The finale completed the circle, and created a mind boggling paradox. Dr. Sophie Forbes, trying to salve herself, had taken blood from Reece, even after being warned by Reece that only 7% of humanity had the genetic marking for the APEX upgrade (she had aught else to lose, she was going to die anyway). In a funny fiddling side twist, Reece had taken the "claret" and smashed the vial in the sink, showing how committed she was to making certain that Apex never got started. But our Sophie, always full of surprises, had but given Reece her B-12 vial, and later Reece leaves, Sophie injects herself with the Apex sample. Her friend is checking her vitals when her optics start to alter and she passes out. Later, when a biting Eve sends her henchman to impale her, Sophie snaps the guys neck—our Sophie Forbes is now APEX, and the whole damn matter that they were trying to prevent Simply STARTED. What an amazing circle. The refugees came here to try and terminate Noon, simply in coming, they actually started information technology. Mind freaking diddled.

What We're Left With
Our fourth dimension is officially upwardly in Port Canaan, unless ABC decides to alter their heed (hint, hint, ABC, it's non too late to admit yous fabricated a mistake on this one!). What was tied up in the finale, what wasn't?
- Far as I tin tell (correct me if I'chiliad wrong), the merely refugee who died was poor Paul, at the hands of his vicious wife, Eve. Hannah had a serious accident in which she was electrocuted, but she seems to have fabricated information technology out of it okay.
- Diana is live, out searching for her wife.
- Lindauer disappeared subsequently tossing his phone into the water, and giving upwardly a piece of incredible information–
- Rachel. Jude gives Caleb a slip of paper and it leads him to a college where Rachel is outside talking to her friends. Shocked and in disbelief, Caleb approaches cautiously. He says her name and afterward a moment, she recognizes him. "Dad?" The 2 are tearfully reunited. We did not go an answer as to how Lindauer concluded up with Rachel.
- Naomi, Rebecca, and the other refugees that our prophet took with her are all still out there somewhere, but nosotros don't have an official account of what happened to them.
- Our favorite HSI agent, Roy, is now working for Sheriff Ellis.
- Hannah and Marshall ended upwards together. We did not notice out who gave her the locket with his picture in it, or how he was really connected to the refugees.
- Nosotros never really found out why Apex hated the rest of humanity to the signal of exterminating them, and we just got a few clips here and there of their world and what it was like.
- All the data on the refugees and when they came from was wiped make clean, and the army camp was burned down.
Farewell, Port Canaan. Thanks for the ride.
If you have a moment, stop by twitter and tell serial creator @DworkinDan thanks for giving united states of america this bear witness. And please leave me a comment. I'd love to hear your thoughts on the finale, and on the series as a whole.
